Every day, individuals among us go above and beyond, making a significant difference in our workplace and community. We have been celebrating our Local Heroes for nearly four years, and each of these individuals exemplifies the values we stand for at Glen.
While our managers highlight the incredible efforts of our Local Heroes each month, we want to encourage every team member to get involved in 2025. We are delighted to continue receiving nominations!
Opoku Amoakoa – K&N Heathrow Perishable Handling Centre

Phil Seaman from K&N Heathrow Perishable Handling Centre said:
“Just a quick note to say that we had a roof leak at PHC which affected all floors of office this morning. Opoku has been an absolute diamond helping the PHC teams clean up the mess. Extensive water damage and lots of office ceiling tiles turned to mush all over the floor. Please do provide both verbal and financial recognition as she has gone far over and above this morning”

Elizabeth Williams - Haybridge High School
Sharon Kosters wrote:
“I would like to put forward Elizabeth Williams as a Local Hero.I was contacted by Gill Reynolds PA to the Head Teacher at Haybridge High School.
She told me that Elizabeth does an amazing job keeping the site during the day clean and tidy, she never stops and how she is always cheerful and has a lovely smile.
I believe this deserves recognition as a local hero”

Ocean Maggs – Old Sodbury Primary School
Alex Jenner-Fust from Stone & Woodford said:
“The school looked really good when we came back from half-term yesterday – please pass on my thanks to the cleaners”

Jackie Barrell – SDM for Devon
Michele Thomas said:
“I would like to nominate Jackie Barrell for the way she has excelled herself in the past year and overcame all the difficulties she has been faced with and completes her role as SDM professionally and we have seen a massive improvement over the months.”

Deborah Smith - Talk Talk Soapworks
Russell Pickford from CBRE said:
“Yesterday Deborah whilst performing her routine details went in to an empty kitchen and found a kettle switched on and boiling away.
After a very short while she recognised that the kettle had boiled dry and was not switching off.
Deborah switched off the kettle at the socket outlet and unplugged it, removed it from service and took it to the Workplace Team to let us know what had happened and that the kitchen now had no Brew making facilities.
This is a great example of going above and beyond in her duties and is exactly the right culture CBRE wishes to encourage from our sub-contractor Partners."

Tracey Dowding - Clarks Village
Samatha Howe said:
“I would also like to recognise one of my team, Tracey Dowding for her help and commitment last week. None of us like bugs, spiders or rodents, yet Tracey literally took one for the team and entered the horrible sheds even though there was screaming, things crawling on her, and a lot of scurrying (we think rats nest possibly) around the sheds, to get the bins out. Without her, I’m not sure we would have managed, she is an absolute star!”

Holly Slade – Operations Support - Head Office
Leigh Lovejoy said: “Holly really is a constant level of support for me and is always there to help and answer questions as and when I need it. If I ask her where I can find a particular bit of information, she just gets it for me and it’s never an issue. She has been dealing with all the issues with Pattersons across the board and as we know there have been a lot!! I know operationally we can all be demanding, so I just wanted to thank Holly for all her help and support that she has and continues to give me!”
"Lucy Poole shared some fantastic feedback regarding Emma’s induction training from Holly. Emma mentioned that Holly was confident, self-assured, and highly knowledgeable in training the managers. The session was extremely helpful, clear, and provided Emma with brilliant information from day one. While Emma has already sent her thanks to Holly, Lucy wanted to highlight how well Holly did and the great impression she made. For a new manager joining our business, this is a fantastic way to start her journey with Glen“

Dave Marshall - Sales Team
"A huge congratulations to Dave Marshall for securing an impressive £600k worth of new contracts in the first quarter. These significant wins include Alliance Homes and Somerset Housing, both of which fall within the Housing Sector—a key strategic focus for Glen in 2025/26.
Dave’s ability to build strong client relationships have played a crucial role in securing these contracts, which will contribute to the company’s continued growth and success. Well done, Dave, on these great wins!"

Dennis Pugsley - County Hall
Mark Foxwell from County Hall expressed that:
“Dennis is fantastic and is always accommodating to all client staff on site. Dennis always covers, has great communication with me and has supported both Training matrix and PAT testing on site.”
