Over the last few months, we have asked the team for feedback on the payroll as we recognised that the pay capture and cut off dates and the number of days paid in the month, can be confusing. The feedback from most people was that you did not want the pay date to change. Because of this, we looked at how best we could even out the paid days in a month.
Due to weekends and payroll processing time and the 3-day cutoff dates for BACS payments to employee’s accounts we are quite limited with how we manage the cut off dates.
From the 1st of January '25 we will be changing the pay capture dates. They will be fixed from the 20th of each month to the 19th of each month; this is a change from the moving pay capture dates each month. This will not affect the date when employees get paid, but will give consistent cut off dates.
We hope that having listened to our employees, this will make it easier to understand the payroll.
