October is also World Menopause Awareness Month; the aim is to break taboo and to make everyone aware of the symptoms and the support available by creating a menopause-friendly workplace.
Women make up half of the Glen workforce, statistics from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development say that many women in the UK, feel forced to reduce their hours, pass up promotions, or even leave their jobs due to lack of menopause support.
That is why in 2022 we signed the Menopause Workplace Pledge and take positive action to make sure everyone going through the menopause is supported.
Maryann Worsfold, HR Business Partner and Diane Walker, Service Delivery Manager are part of the Glen Wellbeing Ambassador Team, with a focus on Menopause. Last October, we said that we would write a Glen Group Menopause Policy, click below to read.
The policy aims to set out what every manager needs to know about the menopause, provides guidance on how to offer support, including carrying out risk assessments and making reasonable adjustments, so that we can retain valuable people.
